Legendary & versatile Bollywood star Irrfan khan dies at 53 from colon infection:

Irrfan khan, one of the finest and famed indian actor, died wednesday (yesterday :29th Apr. 2020) in a mumbai hospital at the age of 53. Khan's spokesperson confirmed the death in the morning. Khan's family said he was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his death.
                                           

Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away.

"Irrfan Khan's demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace," PM Modi tweeted.

"He was a rare talent and a brilliant actor"--tweeted president Ram nath kovind.

Amitabh Bachchan, who co-starred with Irrfan Khan in the film Piku, wrote: "Just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan. This is a most disturbing and sad news... An incredible talent... A gracious colleague, a prolific contributor to the world of cinema. Left us too soon. Creating a huge vacuum. Prayers and duas."

Priyanka chopra tweeted: “The charisma you brought to everything you did was pure magic".                   
                                     

Early life:

Irrfan khan was born on 7th January, 1967 in Jaipur(in the district of Tonk) in a muslim pathan family. His father Yasen Ali Khan, was a wealthy self made businessman who owned a tyre business. His mother Saeeda Begum khan, had a royal lineage.

In his early life he was good in cricket and was selected to play in the CK Nayudu Trophy for emerging players in the under 23 category. He can't take it up as career because of his financial problems.

In the year 1984, he got a scholarship from the NSD (National School of Drama), New Delhi and joined the drama school.             
                                 

Career:

Irrfan khan started his career in various Indian TV shows operas. He was kneen to work in film but the early roles were not so good. The work was easy to come by but he was artistically unsatisfied. For a decade he got stuck in hundreds of uninspiring parts "Chasing middle class housewives" on the Zee and Star Plus networks.

"I came into this industry to tell stories and do cinemas and i was stuck in television" he told the guardian. He thought seriously about quitting acting.
                         

His big screen debut was a further disappointment in Mira Nair's Oscar nominated film "Salaam Bombay" (1988). His breakthrough came in the British-Indian film "The Warrior". Most part of the movie was shoot in Rajasthan and high himalayas under the direction of a british film maker Asif Kapadia. The film won "The Alexander korda" award for best British film at the Baftas. The critical success of the film grew up his film career and for the next two decades he would make as many as six to seven films a year.                                                     

In 2008, he teamed up with Danny Boyle for the  eight oscar  winning  film "Slumdog Millionaire". Khan played the role of police inspector which was admired by all. Boyle compares him to an athlete who can execute the same move perfectly over and over. Boyle described the role as " beautiful to watch ".                 

Khan gradually became a known face to people through his others British-Indian films like The Namesake,  Jurassic World, Life of pi, The Amazing Spider Man etc.

Khan also maintained a parallel career in hindi film industry. His first Bollywood lead role came in 2005 with the film "Rog".
In 2007 he hits the film "Life  in  a Metro" and received the "Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award".   
                                   

  Khan continued his high Bollywood
profile with significant role in the film " Piku" and "Hindi Medium". He gradually became famous in hindi film industry also through his excellent work in hindi movies like  Yeh Saali Zindagi (2010),  Paan sing  Tomar (The  film  won the  Best  Feature  Film  in  the  national  film  awards  2012),  The Lunchbox (2013),  Gunday(2014), Qissa(2014), Jazbaa(2015), Talvar (2015) etc. In 2011 he was awarded the "Padma shri", india's forth highest  honour  for his  contribution to the arts.
                                   

His highest grossing hindi film came with the comedy drama " Hindi Medium"(2017), which won him the "Filmfare Award for Best Actor". His final appearance was in it's sequel
" Angrezi Medium "(2020), which released a little over a week before the coronavirus lockdown was imposed in india.
                                     

Personal life:

In 1995 he married a writer and fellow NSD graduate Sutapa Sikdar. They had two sons Ayan and Babil. He changed his name from " Irfan " to " Irrfan " in 2012 not for any nobel motive but simply because he like the way it sounds ( the double 'r' sound).                     
                                   

Illness & death:

In 2018, he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumors and he revealed it via a tweet. He battled for several months and returned to india few months ago after being treated in London. In india he admitted in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Last rites in Mumbai on wednesday afternoon (yesterday), soon after he died in the hospital due to colon infection. Few hours before he died his spokesperson said he "was still fighting with battle".
                                     

Irrfan Khan's death has left a void in indian cinema and millions of broken hearted fan. Khan is survived by his wife, two sons and his 30 year's of hard work in film industry.
